How I Work
Made slowly, with care,
and reshaped until it feels right.
I was a kindergarten teacher before I was a designer, and it still shapes how I work. For almost four years I was the only designer on two products, so I got to do all of it: the listening, the system, the designs, and a lot of the code.
A steady foundation
Make it once, and make it well.
I built my last company's design system from scratch, so parents and providers always felt at home, no matter which screen they opened.
Made by hand
I build what I design.
I shape ideas in real code the way I shape clay: hands on, until it feels right. I wrote the parent app's front end myself in about two weeks. AI helps me move faster, and the care stays mine.

About
Hi, I'm Aislinn.
I'm a senior product designer (UX/UI) and researcher. I took a winding path here: psychology, then recruiting, then teaching. Most recently I was the sole designer at KidKare and Parachute, building software for the people who run daycares. Now I'm looking for my next remote role.
Teaching taught me empathy: meeting people where they are and noticing what they need. It's still at the heart of how I design.
Outside of work I'm an artist and a traveler, happiest by the ocean or in the PNW woods. Right now I'm making ceramics and textile art.
